About the Program

Skydio For All focuses on opening the door to aerial robotics as a viable career path for future generations from diverse backgrounds. To accomplish this, we engage with local and global communities on educational, civic and cultural initiatives that have a lasting positive impact on the world — from youth STEM education to military veterans support to cultural and historical preservation, as well as wildlife conservation and humanitarian aid. Our collective efforts provide awareness and resources that foster increased accessibility, education and inclusion within Skydio, the wider tech world and our local community.

Origins

In the midst of the COVID pandemic, a handful of diverse Skydio employees brainstormed new ways to support communities in need with Skydio’s core strengths. Out of shared conversations and convictions emerged the foundation for what would become Skydio For All.

The mission of Skydio is to make the world more productive, creative and safe with autonomous flight. It’s what drives us to create technologies that are revolutionizing the way work gets done across a range of critical industries. Yet, as technology advances, we’re mindful of communities that may not have access to its many benefits.

Education, outreach, and building trust are the vital pillars of elevating the communities around us in proportion to our innovation. We are shaped by the core values of accountability, transparency, and the protection of civil liberties in order to create a positive impact on all future generations. We strive to lead by example and hope to inspire others.

From Our CEO

We believe companies have a role to play in shaping how new technology is deployed and the impact that it has on communities — and the world at large. Through our Skydio For All program, we aspire to build trust and awareness through community outreach and education. We’re deeply committed to furthering our investment in programs that enrich the world around us.

As someone who was exposed to engineering for the first time through drone technology, I am personally passionate about Skydio engaging with, and inspiring future generations of innovators with the Skydio For All program.

I don’t get many happy days at work, but yesterday was honestly one of the happiest days that I have had in my 22 year career.

These STEM programs are great. They get these kids exposed to new technology and new opportunities that are out there.

I'm in an area where kids normally would never ever get to probably even touch a drone. So the fact that they were able to get that experience in school it will open their minds to say, 'hey, maybe I want to be a drone operator one day.

Olympia Haynes, Principal Lamad Academy

One of the things about, you know, school people, they all say you should be a doctor, you should be a nurse, and there are so many areas that they don't focus on and drones is one of them. And so if our scholars know how to do that they have an opportunity to have a great income and change the trajectory of their family's financial future.

Youth STEM Education

For many students, Skydio is their first exposure to drones. Students learn how to safely operate drones along with the considerations they should have for the people and environment around them during flights.

Learning by doing creates engaging and memorable experiences. Students learn by flying Skydio drones, exploring software features such as KeyFrame and 3D Scan, as well as interacting with industry professionals.

When students can see themselves in roles and have access to focused attention from industry professionals, it reinforces endless possibilities. In each interaction, we strive to build confidence and capability with each participant.

Getting into drones with the latest drone technology can be daunting and financially challenging. We aim to provide opportunities and access to our technology for educators and non-profits who are uplifting the next generation.
