Key Account Director, Mid City Mid-Market

About the Role:

Skydio is expanding our SLED sales organization with a new Mid City segment focused on police departments under ~100 sworn officers and their associated municipal stakeholders. As the Key Account Director, Mid City, you will lead a team of Key Account Leaders driving adoption of Skydio’s autonomous UAS solutions across high-volume, high-impact public safety agencies.

You will set regional strategy, coach sellers through complex procurement and multi-stakeholder cycles, and partner cross-functionally to ensure programs launch and scale successfully. This is a foundational leadership role shaping how Mid City agencies modernize operations with Skydio technology.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Mid City Key Account Leaders covering distributed SLED territories.

  • Own regional bookings, pipeline health, and forecast accuracy; run disciplined deal and funnel reviews.

  • Build and execute multi-year account strategies to drive new adoption and expansion across Mid City agencies.

  • Support high-impact customer engagements including program design sessions, demos, procurement reviews, and RFP processes.

  • Partner with Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Legal, and Finance to advance opportunities and ensure successful program rollout.

  • Maintain strong relationships with chiefs, command staff, fire departments, and municipal leadership.

  • Provide insight into competitive trends, customer needs, and market dynamics to GTM and product teams.

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing sales talent.

What Makes You A Good Fit:

  • 5–8+ years of enterprise or complex B2B/public sector sales experience, including 2+ years leading or mentoring AEs.

  • Proven track record managing multi-stakeholder public sector deals and exceeding quota.

  • Experience with SLED procurement, RFPs, contracting, and multi-year agreements.

  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to influence chiefs, city leadership, and procurement stakeholders

  • Familiarity with public safety operations, UAS programs, or emerging drone initiatives (helpful but not required).

  • Ability to guide teams through early-stage adoption and scaled expansion.

  • Comfortable learning advanced technology and articulating operational value.

  • Willingness to travel as needed to support regional teams and customers.
