Drone video shows deadly hostage standoff in Escambia County

Escambia County Sheriff’s Office saved the life of a woman whom was being held hostage after a 5 hour standoff with a convicted felon. The Sheriff’s Office deployed the a Skydio X2 for overwatch during the standoff to provide information to officers on the ground, mitigating risk for the officers and the hostage. Eventually the suspect attempted to flee his hostage location and officers shot the suspect, freeing the hostage.
